Accreditation
Regional Accreditation
Lindenwood University has been continuously accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools since 1918.

In 2003-04 Lindenwood underwent its 10-year review for continued accreditation. Part of that review involved conducting a comprehensive self-study of all of its personnel, programs, and facilities. The University's self-study report concluded with the following statement: “In view of what this report and the supporting documents show, we respectfully request that the Higher Learning Commission grant Lindenwood University a continuation of its accreditation for a period of ten years.”

After conducting its thorough review of this grand old university, the Higher Learning Commission stated: “Lindenwood is blessed with what is arguably one of the hardest-working and most dedicated teaching faculties in American higher education.” -- Visiting Team of the Higher Learning Commission, January, 2004.

Lindenwood was granted a continuation of its accreditation for a period of ten years - until 2013-14.

The Web site of the Higher Learning Commission can be accessed at http://www.ncahigherlearningcommission.org/.

Athletic Training
Lindenwood University’s Athletic Training program became accredited in October, 2003. The next review and site visit will be conducted during the 2008-2009 academic year by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).

Management
Lindenwood University is a candidate for a specialized Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) accreditation. “ACSBP is the leading specialized accreditation association for business education supporting, celebrating, and rewarding teaching excellence. The association embraces the virtues of teaching excellence and believes that scholarly research and inquiry activities facilitate improved teaching.” This specialized accreditation is in addition to our current accreditation with Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Social Work
Lindenwood University’s Social Work program has been in candidacy for specialized accreditation by the Council on Social Work Education since 2005. After three successful site visits with no major concerns cited, the program continues to progress toward CSWE accreditation status. Lindenwood is now in the final stage of the 3-4 year process and anticipates fulfillment of all CSWE accreditation criteria by 2008-2009.

Teacher Education
The Education Division at Lindenwood University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, and its Ed.D. application was adopted by HLC as a model for other institutions. The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education recognized the Education Division as having an exemplary program during its most recent visit. The Education Division is a member of Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC) and will undergo the auditing procedure of TEAC in 2008.
