Mathematics Placement Testing

The Mathematics Placement system at Lindenwood University is designed to assess students’ skills before they enroll in their first math course. The specific placement test taken by each student is determined by his/her anticipated area of study. Students who plan to major in a field of math or science, including Computer Science, PreEngineering, and Pre-professional health fields, will take one of the Algebra-Calculus placement tests. Students majoring in any other area, and those students who have not yet decided on a major, will take the General Education Math placement test.

Placement tests will be administered to all students attending the Admissions Department’s open enrollment sessions. Students who cannot attend an enrollment session will complete the Math Placement Test after arriving on campus. On-campus placement testing schedules will be posted at least one month prior to the start of each semester.

Math placement testing hours and availability are available using the WCOnline software system. First time users will need to register prior to viewing testing availability. Make sure the “Choose a schedule” is set to math placement.
