Student Learning Outcomes

Performance
In diverse contexts, the graduate is able to dance with superior artistry—demonstrate (through a body of work for evaluation), professional, entry-level competence in the major area(s) of specialization, including significant technical mastery, capability to produce work and solve professional problems independently, and a coherent set of artistic/intellectual goals that are evident in their work.

Choreography
The graduate is able to choreograph and produce (plan, prepare, direct, and manage) dance effectively.

History and Criticism
In historical, cultural, and stylistic contexts, the graduate is able to respond to dance critically and analytically –form and defend analyses and critiques of dance and to communicate dance ideas, concepts, and requirements to professionals and lay persons related to the practice of the major field.
