Department of Music
Every now and then you find a song that understands you perfectly...and so it goes with the LU Music Department. There are many ways to be musical, and whether you're interested in a music major or minor, or simply enriching your collegiate experience though music, tell us your musical ambitions and we'll help you achieve them.
The Department of Music offers the following undergraduate degree programs:
BA in Music
What do you get when you combine immense, acoustically engineered space, specialized furniture and equipment, a grand piano, and built-in audio and video recording technology? The answer is the perfect environment for music-making, which is precisely what you’ll find at Lindenwood. Located within the J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts, the choral and instrumental rehearsal rooms are just a part of many first-class arts facilities at Lindenwood.
Far from ordinary, the versatile and spacious instrumental rehearsal room is a stadium where instrumental students can perfect their craft. For students looking for a place to practice, the music department has several practice rooms, each with a Steinway-built piano. You should expect nothing less from an All-Steinway School—a bold example of Lindenwood’s commitment to excellence and the arts.
For students interested in music theory, composing, or arranging the AT&T Music Computer Lab is where you'll find twenty-four audio workstations, each with a full-size keyboard, computer, headphones, and industry-standard software for creating, editing, and sharing your next masterpiece.
To get started, contact Kelsey Jimenez for information about the admissions process. An audition is required for acceptance into the BA in Music Performance degree. For students interested in the BA in Music degree (with or without K-12 teacher certification), the BA in Music Business degree, or a music minor, an audition is only required for scholarship consideration.
