Head Coach: Vince O'Mara
Vince O’Mara is
entering his
sixth year as the Lady Lions
ice hockey head coach.
He has a career
record of
133-18-4 since
taking over the
Lindenwood
program.
In
each of the last
three seasons, the
Lady Lions have
appeared in the ACHA Women's
Division I
National
Championship
game. In 2006,
Lindenwood won
the title on its
home ice with a
3-2 overtime
victory over
Robert Morris.
O'Mara was named
the National
Coach of the
Year after that
victory. The
next year, Robert
Morris won the
rematch in the
title match.
Lindenwood won
the rubber match
against the
Eagles in title
games with a 2-1
win in the 2008
championship
match. In the
last three
years, the Lady
Lions have a
record of 92-12-1
(.881).
O’Mara is
starting his 13th year coaching women’s hockey. Prior to joining the Lindenwood coaching staff,
O'Mara was the head coach for the St. Louis Force select 16 and over women’s team. He had a combined record
there of
135-25-12. He also has numerous years of playing and coaching men’s hockey. He has been involved in instructing and running many hockey camps and schools for both men and women.
Over his
career, O'Mara
had coached
teams to four
WCHL league
championships,
five Missouri
State titles,
four Central
Regional
championships,
and four
national
championship
appearances.
Away from the ice,
O'Mara likes to fish, ride his bikes and spend time with his wife, Jennifer, and their daughter, Alyssa.
Assistant Coach: Rick Pratt
Joining Vince
O’Mara behind
the bench will
be his long time
assistant Rick
Pratt. Pratt is entering his
fifth with the Lady Lions and his
tenth year overall with
O’Mara.
He brings
many years of
coaching,
playing and
officiating
experience with
him. Pratt is
the rink manager
at the
Lindenwood Ice
Arena. In his
spare time, he
enjoys golf and
spending time
with Anita.
Graduate
Assistant Coach:
Katie Kells
Katie Kells is
in her second
year on the
Lindenwood bench
after serving as
a student
assistant coach
last year. She
works with the
team on defense and
off ice
conditioning
Kells had an
impressive
playing career
at Lindenwood
for the past
three seasons,
including
serving as one
of the team
captains for the
past two years.
She appeared in
91 games and
collected 60
goals and 56
assists. Her 116
points is good
for fourth on
the all-time
Lindenwood
career list.
Kells
completed her
Bachelors degree
in Physical
Education last
year and is
working towards
her Masters in
Education
Administration.
