About Men's Lacrosse - Return to Previous Page
The Lindenwood University Men’s Lacrosse Program

The Lindenwood University men’s lacrosse program combines hard work, perseverance, and teamwork to make up one of the country’s top lacrosse programs. Under the direction of head coach Troy Hood, the Lindenwood University men’s lacrosse team has become one of the elite programs in the nation. The Lion’s have a very diverse roster with players hailing from Missouri, Maryland, Illinois, Tennessee, Ohio, Kansas, Texas, Indiana, Oklahoma, Idaho, and even Canada. The team competes in the United States Lacrosse Men’s Division of Intercollegiate Associates (USL-MDIA), and is a member of the Great Rivers Lacrosse Conference (GRLC). Although the USL-MDIA is considered club level lacrosse, don’t let that fool you. Most top teams in the USL-MDIA are the same competitive level with NCAA DII - III teams. The program is well supported by the University, who with the help of the Communications Department and LU-TV, even televise the team’s home games each season to over 50,000 people in St. Charles County..

A typical season begins in late January and lasts until early May. The team plays a national schedule of around 20 games per year. The LU lacrosse team will be celebrating its fifth season as a program in 2007, but most will agree the team has grown tremendously in the last two years. In the 2005-2006 seasons, the team has amassed an amazing record of 36-7, and has appeared in the USL-MDIA National Tournament both years. In addition, the Lion’s are currently holding a 33 game, three year, home winning streak.

The team practices and plays all home games at Hunter Stadium, a beautiful brand new 6,000 seat venue located in the middle of campus. The University spent 5 million dollars upgrading the stadium in every aspect in 2005. The playing surface is “Astro-Play”, which is a type of synthetic turf that acts like real grass. In addition to Hunter Stadium, Lindenwood has a state-of-the-art training facility to provide the team with the best equipment they need to succeed.
