The Lindenwood University Women’s Lacrosse Program
|
The Lindenwood
University
women’s lacrosse
program combines
hard work,
dedication, and
teamwork to make
up one of the
country’s top
lacrosse
programs. Under
the guidance of
head coach Jack
Cribbin and
assistant coach
Aynie Linneman,
the Lindenwood
women’s lacrosse
team has become
one of the elite
programs in the
nation. The Lady
Lions have a
very diverse
roster with
players hailing
from Missouri,
Maryland,
Illinois, New
York, Colorado,
Florida, and
even Canada. As
a result of
Lindenwood’s
affiliation with
the National
Association of
Intercollegiate
Athletics (NAIA)-an
association that
currently does
not offer
lacrosse; the
team competes in
the United
States Lacrosse
Women’s Division
of
Intercollegiate
Associates (USL-WDIA)-a
league which is
governed by US
Lacrosse. In
addition, the
team is member
of the Central
Plains Women’s
Lacrosse League
(CPWLL).
Although the
WDIA is
considered club
level lacrosse,
don’t let that
fool you. Most
top teams in the
WDIA are the
same competitive
level with NCAA
DII-III teams.
The program is
well supported
by Lindenwood,
who with the
help of the
Communications
Department and
LU-TV, even
televise the
team’s home
games each
season to over
50,000 people in
St. Charles
County.

The season
begins in late
January and
lasts until
early May. The
team plays a
national
schedule of
around 25 games
per year. The
lacrosse team
will be
celebrating its
sixth season as
a program in
2008, but most
will agree the
team has grown
tremendously in
the last year.
The team became
"Road Warriors"
in 2007;
traveling
extensively to
other states to
play highly
regarded teams
in order to gain
more national
exposure. It has
also evolved
into part of
what might be
called "Program
Pride"; going to
different
universities,
and experiencing
life on the road
together as a
team, which is
one of the best
parts of being a
member of the
Lindenwood
women’s lacrosse
team.
The team
practices and
plays all home
games at Harlen
C. Hunter
Stadium, a
beautiful brand
new 6,500 seat
venue located in
the middle of
campus.
Lindenwood spent
five million
dollars
upgrading the
stadium in every
aspect in 2005.
The playing
surface is “Astro-Play”,
which is a type
of synthetic
turf that acts
like real grass.
In addition to
the Stadium,
Lindenwood has a
state-of-the-art
training
facility to
provide the team
with the best
equipment they
need to succeed.
