Educators New to Illinois

As teachers apply to ISBE for their Illinois PEL, we understand that some certificates will be deficient and teachers might be granted an Educator License with Stipulations. We offer four courses that have been approved by the Illinois State Board of Education; all of these courses are offered at the graduate level and available online.

If the stipulation is for: Lindenwood University offers the ISBE approved course:

Methods of instruction of the exceptional child in cross-categorical child special education

EDS 53000:  Introduction and Methods of Teaching Children with Disabilities in Cross-Categorical Setting

Methods of reading

EDU 50305:  Methods of Teaching Reading, Writing and Oral Communication

Reading in the content area EDU 50705:  Methods of Teaching Reading in the Content Area

Instructional strategies for English language learners TESOL 54000:  TESOL Methods

Any questions can be directed to Lindenwood University – Belleville School of Education at (618) 239-6093.
