English majors take a variety of courses aimed at sharpening analytical thinking, written and oral communications skills, and creativity. Courses address varying aspects of English language and literature, including history, culture, rhetorical function, and lasting impact as they cover the sweep of literary production from English-speaking cultures around the world.

To enhance the valuable skills learned in the Lindenwood classroom, English majors are encouraged to study abroad, pursue internships and job experiences in the summer, and volunteer with programs related to their work, such as literacy outreach and community book drives. Students should feel free to propose activities that will complement their classroom experiences, including speakers, film showings, write-ins, or any other community-building and fun event.
