Communications - Programs
Program Description
Undergraduate degrees are offered in Corporate Communication, Advertising and Media, and Mass Communication with a variety of emphases or concentrations. All students majoring in Corporate Communication, Multimedia Production Communication, and Advertising and Media must complete a portfolio. Faculty advisors will review the specific requirements with the students well in advance of their senior year. An evaluation of the portfolio will be completed in COM 460 (Senior Communication Seminar) and will constitute a portion of the student's grade in that class.
To complete a Mass Communication Emphasis, students must complete an Emphasis Project. Each project is specifically design for the area of expertise defined by each Emphasis. Faculty advisors will review the specific requirements with the students well in advance of their senior year. An evaluation of the project will be completed in COM 460 (Senior Communication Seminar) and will constitute a portion of the student's grade in that class.
Early Access to the MA or MS Program
With approval from the Dean of Fine & Performing Arts/Communication and the Provost, students may take up to nine semester hours at the graduate level during their senior year. These hours will count toward the M.A. degree in Communication, but not toward the bachelor's degree. A student must be enrolled in at least 12 semester hours of undergraduate classes each semester that he or she is taking M.A. credits under this option. |
