Transfer students are eligible for acceptance into the program, but they must complete (or be in the process of completing) all entrance requirements to apply. Transfer students must have their transcript evaluated by the Registrar's Office and the Athletic Training Program Director. Courses required as part of the application process (listed above as VII) may transfer from the student's original college or university as long as they are substantially the same in scope and content. Also, transfer students must complete an interview with the athletic training faculty and staff prior to beginning the fall semester. Once accepted into the program, transfer students will have a minimum of six semesters before graduation.
Pending the number of credit hours transferring, the total number of necessary electives is subject to review on an individual basis.
"Teaching and Leading as an Art and a Science"
The School of Education agrees that the general outcome of the teacher education program must be teaching professionals that believe and implement teaching as a blend of “Art” and “Science” as represented by the Beauty and Mechanism of the Spellmann Clock Tower… Teaching as an art because teaching is a craft that must be learned and applied in an authentic environment. Teaching as a science because it must be influenced by research and best practice for optimal student learning to be achieved... The conceptual framework for Lindenwood University Teacher Preparation Program is driven by the Mission Statement of the University and the eleven Standards for Beginning Teachers in Missouri.
