Dear Graduate:
The graduation committee joins me in offering congratulations and best wishes to you as we approach Commencement 2009.
The Baccalaureate and Commencement ceremonies on May 15 and 16 are open for the participation of students who have completed degrees as of August, September or December 2008 and March or May 2009. Students who plan to complete a degree before the end of June or August 2009 are also invited to participate if they meet the requirements of current University policy governing participation in the ceremonies.
Friday, May 15:
Graduate Student (MA, MAT, MBA, MFA, MS, Ed.S, and Ed.D) Baccalaureate and Commencement
• Baccalaureate will be held Friday evening May 15 at 7:30 p.m. at the St. Charles Family Arena.
• Immediately following Baccalaureate we will hood and confer all Master’s, Education Specialist, and Doctor of Education degrees.
• Undergraduates are also invited to attend this event; however, they will not march across the stage during the event.
• There is no charge for parking.
Saturday, May 16:
Undergraduate Student (BA, BFA, BS) Commencement
• Undergraduate Commencement will be held Saturday morning May 16 at 10 a.m. at the St. Charles Family Arena.
• There is no charge for parking.
There is a graduation fee of $100 for undergraduate students that includes the entire cost of graduation processing and commencement, including diplomas, caps, and gowns. The $125 fee for graduate students and $200 fee for doctoral students includes diplomas, caps, gowns, hoods, and other applicable fees. All outstanding Lindenwood charges must be paid before diplomas are released. The graduation fee is required of all graduating students regardless of participation in the commencement ceremonies.
In the past due to limited space, Lindenwood University issued guest tickets. We are pleased to announce that guests will not need a ticket for the 2009 ceremonies. Guest seating will be available on first-come, first-served basis. Friday guest gate will open at 6 p.m.; Saturday guest gate will open at 8:30 a.m.
Students should pay particular attention to our new cap and gown ordering option. Students may elect to have their caps, gowns, and tassels delivered to their home addresses via online ordering. Lindenwood addresses will not be accepted. Graduate, Specialist, and Doctroal students will receive hoods on stage as part of the ceremony. Honors cords will be distributed to eligible students at graduation check-in. Online orders must be placed by April 15 at www.jostens.com. If you choose not to order online, they may use our cap and gown pick up option on April 16-18. Please see Graduation Dates and Deadlines, No.2, for ordering information.
Diplomas will be available on June 22 (See item No. 1 on the Graduation Dates & Deadlines 2009 letter) in the Business Office.
Of all the reminders on the Graduation Dates & Deadlines enclosure, please give special attention to item No. 5. Students who have a balance on their student accounts have until 5 p.m., April 17, 2009, to pay in full or you may not participate in the 2009 Commencement procession. A follow-up statement will be sent no later than April 11. If you have questions about the status of your Business Office account, please request information immediately. If you have received student loans, you are reminded that you must complete an exit interview by Friday, April 3, 2009, with the Financial Aid Office before graduation clearance is given. A commercial photographer will be present to take a photograph of you accepting your diploma. While there is no obligation to make a purchase, proofs will be mailed directly to your permanent address. Lindenwood University has no affiliation with the photographer; inquiries should be directed to

The St. Charles Family Arena is located at 2002 Arena Parkway, St. Charles, MO 63303. Please find directions in the graduation menu box.
Commencement will be videotaped by the Lindenwood University Chapter of the National Broadcasting Society. The cost for the DVD is $29.95 if ordered before or on graduation day; the cost will increase to $39.95 if ordered after graduation day.
