Assistant/Associate/Full Professor - Accounting

Type of Position: Faculty

Location: St. Charles

Open Until Filled

Purpose of Position: To fill the vacant position of Accounting Professor.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Candidates must have a strong interest and requisite skills in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, as well as mentoring students in the field of accounting. Candidates must be available to instruct day and evening courses and have the ability to teach through a variety of delivery methods (traditional on-ground, hybrid, and online). In addition, candidates must demonstrate a commitment to school and university service through academic advising and committee membership. The accounting department offers a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Master of Accountancy as well as support for other degree programs such as a MBA with accounting emphasis.

  • Teaching load includes undergraduate and graduate accounting courses
  • Maintain regular office hours and contact with students as appropriate
  • Advise students
  • Perform appropriate service functions for the department, school, university, and community
  • Engage in scholarly research, leading to publication in refereed journals and/or conference proceedings

Education Requirements:
  • A Ph.D. in Accounting or equivalent degree from a regionally accredited institution, with at least 18 hours of graduate coursework in accounting.
  • Excellent communication, computer, and organizational skills
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience and a desire to teach in the following areas: intermediate accounting, auditing, or tax. 
  • Demonstrated success using technology

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active research agenda
  • Experience serving on and/or chairing thesis and dissertation committees
  • CPA or other professional certification(s)
  • Relevant professional work experience
  • Established teaching success

The report contains information regarding campus security and personal safety, including topics such as crime prevention, public safety authority, crime reporting policies, fire safety, disciplinary procedures, and other matters of importance related to security on campus.  The report also contains information about fire statistics in LU residential facilities and crime statistics for the three previous calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Lindenwood; and on public property that is within or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus.
