Purpose of Position: Working in the office of Institutional Advancement the Director of Corporate Relations is charged with the strategy and growth of Lindenwood’s corporate relations programs through the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors.
Duties & Responsibilities: Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must possess a high level of emotional intelligence and be able to foster highly effective relationships with varied constituents in the St. Louis region’s corporate community and beyond, and at the University. Must be highly organized and able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously. Must have strong professional integrity and ability to maintain strict confidentiality, especially in the area of donor financial data. Position requires the ability to use good judgment, think critically and communicate effectively.
Hours/Days: full-time position, some evening and weekend meetings
Education Requirements: (including training, registration, licensure and accreditation)
A Bachelor Degree is required; a Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
Work Experience Requirements:
5-7 years in non-profit development work with experience in building multi-faceted corporate relationships or 5-7 years in a related discipline such as business development. Experience with Raiser’s Edge software a plus.
Physical Effort Required:
Position Requirements: Work effectively at a computer for up to eight hours per day. Must be able to sit for extended periods of time. Must be able to greet and guide alumni and donors at sites on and around campus.
Essential Job Functions:
The essential roles, responsibilities and activities in this position are as follows:
- Develop and maintain a portfolio of prospects
- Cultivate, solicit and steward corporate prospects and donors
- Develop and oversee multi-faceted corporate relations communications and events
- Maintain and grow effective links with varied departments within university and corporations
- Enrich and maintain records and strategic plans
- Work closely with Vice President for Institutional Advancement
- Regular attendance is required.
- Job may require other duties as assigned.
