Work to make a difference
Human Services is strongly connected to the community. We offer practicums and internships that offer our students real world experience while still in college. Our students participate in ride-alongs with the police, preaching on Sundays, working with victims of domestic violence, and raising much-needed funds for nonprofit agencies. Field trips to prisons, the state capital for Advocacy Day, homeless shelters, and trips to Europe to learn cross-cultural approaches to law enforcement or social services are ways we enhance the education of our students. Our graduates are working to make a difference. Among them: Kelly is a police officer, Renee is a social worker in a nursing home, Scott is a probation and parole officer, Cleotha works with at-risk teens, Kerry is a university activities director, Kim runs an animal shelter, and Bjorn expects to be an Army chaplain. They are getting paid to fulfill their passion. They have changed their commitment to a cause into a full-time career. Do you want to make our world a better place? Do you want to work to make a difference? The School of Human Services has a program for you. |
