It is my pleasure to announce the beginning of our inaugural year for the Center for International and Global Studies. The center’s mission is to provide a vibrant teaching and research environment through a variety of interdisciplinary approaches to global understanding.
In collaboration with the School of Humanities, the Center works closely with faculty members to promote research in the fields of anthropology, education, geography, history, international relations, international management, political science, religion, and sociology. We have a highly qualified faculty who teach courses in the international studies undergraduate and graduate coursework.
A prime directive of the Center is to enhance our understanding of globalization and how it influences us today. Some of the topics include, but are not limited to: economic development, human rights issues, environmental sustainability, international politics, conflict resolution, terrorism, peace and diplomacy, ethnic, gender, religious, and secular trends throughout the world.
This year, the Center will introduce a lecture series and the Journal for International and Global Studies, free of charge to the public. Please browse our website or contact a member of the Center’s staff (
cigs@lindenwood.edu) to obtain further information.
Lastly, I hope you find our site stimulating and easy to maneuver. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
We appreciate your interest in the Center for International and Global Studies.
Please feel free to visit any time.
With My Very Best,
