Library News

New Titles
To keep you up to date on all the new books we have and are ordering, this page contains topical lists of books that the library has acquired in the last few months. We are also getting new books daily, so please be sure to check back as we update the lists to reflect new purchases.

Closed Caption Television
For you news buffs on campus, television sets have been installed in Butler Library!

Every day when students come to the library to study, do research on one of the 20 stand alone computers to search for books in the Bridges catalog or MOBIUS which has access to the catalogs of 60 colleges and Universities in Missouri, search in one of the many available online databases, such as Lexis/Nexis or search for articles on the periodical search page. Students may now glance over at one of the newly installed television sets and have access to world news and student activities on campus.

The televisions are located in the Leisure Reading Lounge and the Reference Room on the main floor of the library.

The majority of the time you will find CNN, MSNBC, or the campus station, LUTV-26 being broadcasted, and at times their may be special programming available.

Please give us a call at (636) 949-4820 and let us know if you like being aware of what’s going on in the world or talk to the friendly staff personally at Butler Library!

Federated Searching
Students will now have the ability to search across multiple databases, as well as the library catalog and other popular internet search engines (ie. Google) at the same time with the new WebFeat Express tool. For additional information and assistance please contact a reference librarian at 636-949-4144.
