Ameren donates $5,000
November 22, 2000
Lindenwood University has received a $5,000 grant from the Ameren SmartLights program. The money will be used for lighting in the parking lots of two new residence halls on campus, as well as decorative exterior lighting on the buildings.
The new residence halls, which opened to students in the fall, are on the south side of Lindenwood's 378-acre main campus. Each building houses 180 students. One building is for male students, while the other is for female students.
The SmartLights program grants funding for new or replacement energy-efficient lighting equipment in public areas. The winners were selected from more than 200 applicants from the Bi-State area. To qualify for funds, Ameren must supply electricity for each winning lighting project site. Out of the five school recipients, Lindenwood was the only college or university.
