More Bright Flight Scholars heading to Lindenwood

December 11, 2000

Fall data released this month by the Missouri Coordinating Board for Higher Education shows another increase in the number of "bright flight" scholars attending Lindenwood University.

This fall, Lindenwood had 113 Bright Flight Scholars, up from 108 last year. The 113 puts Lindenwood among the top four independent colleges in Missouri in attracting top scholars--Saint Louis University, Washington University, Drury University and Lindenwood were the only ones with more than 100.

A Bright Flight Scholar is a student with an ACT score of 30 or higher. Those students are eligible for a $2,000 state grant designed to keep Missouri's "best and brightest" students in their home state.

Lindenwood University provides substantial scholarship funding for Bright Flight Scholars over and above the state grant. To find out more about Lindenwood's Bright Flight program, or to enroll for the spring semester, call 636-949-4949.
