An estimated 3,500 St. Louis Rams football fans got to see their team up close and personal Sunday at Lindenwood University as the Rams wrapped up mini-camp at LU with a practice and an autograph session.
Although players were only in helmets and without pads, fans applauded every breakaway run and catch as if it were the 2000 season opener against the Washington Redskins.
"It was truly a great day for everyone," said Lindenwood football coach Dan Kratzer. "It gave the fans a chance to see the Super Bowl champs and the fabulous facilities we have here at Lindenwood."
Following the conclusion of practice, Rams fans lined the waist-high fence enclosing LU's football field -- seeking conversations and autographs from their heroes. And they went home happy.
