LU Professor Ellis to receive Emerson Award

Lindenwood University professor Roger Ellis has been selected to receive Emerson Electric Co.’s Award for Excellence in Teaching.
The award is presented annually to teachers who exhibit a high level of ability and commitment to their craft. Ellis is an associate professor of management at Lindenwood and coaches Lindenwood’s men’s and women’s varsity golf teams.
He has taught at Lindenwood since 1997 and has degrees from the University of Missouri–Rolla and the University of Arkansas. Ellis is licensed to practice law in state and federal courts in Missouri, Illinois and Alabama and specializes in teaching legal classes at Lindenwood.
Ellis, who lives in St. Peters with his wife, Peggy, has also received honors as golf coach at Lindenwood. He was named NAIA Region V Men’s Golf Coach of the Year in 2000 and was named Heart of America Athletic Conference Coach of the Year for the men’s team in 1999 and for the women’s team in 2000.
He is scheduled to receive the Emerson award at the company’s Excellence in Teaching Awards Program, which will be held on Nov. 5 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Clayton.
