New fathering book by Lindenwood psychologist

Men's roles are changing. Fathers are becoming more involved in their children's lives. A new model of fathering is needed for our new millennium. What might the "new way" of fathering look like? A recently-released book on the subject might provide some answers.

Lindenwood University faculty member Christopher Scribner, PhD has co-authored a book "Father Time: Stories on the Heart and Soul of Fathering". The book offers inspiration and insights to men and women, combining 52 stories of the authors' personal experiences as fathers and sons with the foundation of their many years of experience as teachers and psychotherapists specializing in work with men.

Scribner's wide range of interests is reflected in his writings. His light verse has been praised as "inspired' showing nimble wit, verve, and invention" by the editor of "Light: The Quarterly of Light Verse", which has published more than a dozen of Scribner's poems.

Scribner joined the faculty at Lindenwood University last year. He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Earlham College who completed his training in clinical psychology at the University of Tennessee. He has been an intercollegiate Ultimate Frisbee player, a clinical faculty member in a medical school psychiatry department, an occasional wedding photographer, a teacher of a poetry class for elementary-aged children and psychological consultant for several theatre productions.

Professionally, he has been Director of a Rehabilitation Psychology division in a large urban hospital, a psychotherapy supervisor and a psychotherapist.
