MasterCard VP to speak at commencement

Jerry McElhatton, senior executive vice president for MasterCard International, will be the guest speaker for the 174th commencement ceremony at Lindenwood University on Saturday, May 19. Undergraduate and graduate degrees will be conferred upon 2,023 graduates, making this the largest commencement in Lindenwood history.
McElhatton is responsible for global technology and operations at MasterCard, ensuring that company's technology leadership and quality of operations. He joined MasterCard in 1994, and is overseeing the construction ofa $135 million, 535,000-square foot advanced technology center in O'Fallon, MO.
John Hammond, longtime business leader in St. Louis and St. Charles counties and a member of the Lindenwood University Board of Directors, will be the featured speaer for the baccalaureate service to be held Friday, May 18. During the baccalaureate service, wndy Dunlap (B.A. class of 1990), of Las Vegas, NV will receive the Lindenwood Alumni Merit Award for Professional Accomplishment and Sandra Starr Moon (B.A., class of 1968) of Huntsville, AL, will receive the Lindenwood Alumni Merit Award for Service to Lindenwood. The awards will be presented by Randy Karraker (B.A., class of 1984), a sportscaster with KTRS.
Jaemi Tiongson and Mary Ann Zipf are speaking for the senior class during Saturday's commencement. During the ceremony, an honorary doctorate of humane letters will be bestowed upon McElhatton.
The 2001 Lindenwood University commencement will be held at 10 a.m. on the quadrangle of the main campus in St. Charles. The baccalaureate service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 18 at the Hyland Performance Arena on campus.
The Lindenwood University commencement ceremony is open to the public.
