Lindenwood named Champion of Character Institution
November 22, 2004
Lindenwood University has been selected as an NAIA Champions of Character Institution for 2004 by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics NAIA.
The NAIA Champions of Character program strives to create an environment in which every NAIA student-athlete, coach, official and spectator is committed to the true spirit of competition through five tenets: respect, integrity, responsibility, servant leadership and sportsmanship.
The NAIA introduced its “Champions of Character” initiative in 2000 and seeks to emphasize character development in NAIA student-athletes and youth sports.
Lindenwood is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). The Lions compete in all 21 NIAIA sports for men and women and as part of the Heart of America Athletic Conference. In addition, the Lions compete independently in 17 other mens and womens' sports.
