'Godspell’ Will Continue Mainstage Season
October 9, 2006
The Lindenwood University Theatre Department will continue its 2006-2007 Mainstage Season with the musical “Godspell” at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 19-21 and Oct. 27-28 with a matinee at 2 p.m. on Oct. 28. All performances are in the Lindenwood Cultural Center, 400 S. Kingshighway in St. Charles, approximately two blocks north of the main Lindenwood campus.
“Godspell,” one of the biggest off-Broadway and Broadway successes of all time, includes music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and was originally conceived by Michael Tebelak. The musical is based on the Gospel According to St. Matthew and features a sparkling, seminal score that includes a string of recognizable songs, led by the international hit, “Day By Day.” As the cast of actor/clowns makes its way through “Prepare Ye The Way Of The Lord,” “Save The People,” “Learn Your Lessons Well,” “Bless The Lord,” “All For The Best,” “All Good Gifts,” “Turn Back, O Man” and “By My Side,” we, as audience members, get to see the parables of Jesus Christ come humanly and heartrendingly to life.
Ticket prices are $12 for general admission, $10 for seniors and $8 for students (ages 12-18). Group rates are available. For reservations, contact the Box Office (located in Roemer Hall on the main Lindenwood campus) at 636-949-4878. The box office is open from 1 to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
