LU Opens Advising Office for Community College Students
August 31, 2007
Lindenwood University and St. Charles Community College have agreed to a partnership in which Lindenwood will operate an academic advising office on the community college campus in Cottleville.
The office, which opened on Aug. 20, enables Lindenwood University to assist SCC students considering transfer and admission to Lindenwood after completing their associate’s degrees or 60 credit hours of classes at SCC.
The office is in room 1226 on the first floor of the community college’s Administration Building and is staffed by a Lindenwood admissions counselor.
“This is an exciting step in our partnership with St. Charles Community College,” said Jim Evans, Ph.D., Lindenwood’s president. “We already had a great relationship with the college, and this takes it to a new level.”
“The academic advising agreement provides a helpful, in-house service to our students considering continuing their education at Lindenwood,” said John McGuire, Ph.D., president of St. Charles Community College. “We welcome the opportunity to work closely with Lindenwood in a partnership that focuses on student success and ease of transfer. Lindenwood University continues to be one of the top choices for our graduates who are looking to transfer to a four-year college.”
