The Lindenwood University Department of Theatre will continue its 2007-2008 Mainstage Season with the musical revue, “Blame it on the Movies!”, which opens Thursday, Oct. 18. The revue includes music and lyrics by Billy Barnes and music sequences compiled and conceived by David Galligan and Ron Abel.
The sound of movies is saluted in this cheerful musical cavalcade of wonderful songs and themes from the world’s favorite films. Fresh and fast-paced, “Blame it on the Movies!” is a nostalgic treat that features unforgettable tunes from “The Wizard Of Oz,” “Meet Me In St. Louis,” “The Pink Panther,” “Psycho,” “Jaws,” “Gone With The Wind,” “Goldfinger,” “The Color Purple,” “Footloose,” and many others in a fun-filled homage to movies of all genres. It’s the perfect celebration of the silver screen–onstage, live and in person.
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, Oct. 18, 19, 20, 25, 26 and 28. Ticket prices are $12 for general admission, $10 for seniors and $8 for students (age 12–18). For reservations contact the Box Office at 636-949-4878. Group rates are available.
The performances will be held in the Lindenwood University Cultural Center Auditorium, located at 400 N. Kingshighway, approximately two blocks north of the main campus in St. Charles, Mo.
The director of the production is Pam Grooms. The stage manager is Kelley Keouogh. Choreography is by Keith Williams. The assistant director is Hassie Davis. The student director is Erin Klepper. The assistant stage manager is Kristen Statler. The cast includes: Samantha Bonomo, Peter Colombatto, Kayla Doeren, Michael Dowdy, Sarah Greene, Toya Huston, Whitney Kaibel, Nicole Lombardi, Adam Loyd, Katie McGowan, Robert Mitchell, Lizzy Nolan, Devon Norris, Sarah Quaranta, Tara Rispin, Danny Simms, and Ryan Wood.
The set and lighting designers are Jane Kohnen and Jeanette Mattingly. The technical director is Donnell Walsh. The sound designer/coordinator is Drew Matney. The properties mistress is Jeannette Mattingly. The costume designer is Cynda Galikin.
