Delta Epsilon Chi Chapter Sending Three to International Conference

March 6, 2009

Five students from Lindenwood University’s inaugural Delta Epsilon Chi (DECA) chapter recently placed in the top portion of their respective categories during the business organization’s state competition in February.

Three of the five students who competed in the competition will advance to the 2009 International Career Development Conference April 29- May 2 in Anaheim, CA.

Senior Julie Allen will compete in the retail management category, and freshmen Danny Zammit and Chelsea Strand will compete in the sports and entertainment marketing category. They will be ranked on their critical thinking skills and performance during simulated business situations.

“It’s great because it gives us experience using creativity to work through business situations, something more than what’s in the pages of a textbook,” Allen said. “It also provides great networking opportunities with all the businesses that support Delta Epsilon Chi.

Students from Lindenwood’s DECA chapter have planned a trivia night fundraiser to offset the costs of traveling to the spring conference. The event will take place at 6 p.m., March 21 at the Lindenwood Club, located at 600 Friedens Road in St. Charles. The cost to attend is $15 per person or $120 for a table of eight.
