The Lindenwood University 2008-2009 Honors Convocation ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, in the J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts. The ceremony recognizes top-performing students who have risen to the challenge of excelling in their academic pursuits.
Commendations awarded by the university include Degree, Class, and Major Honors, as well as several individual achievement awards. Special recognition also is given to students who combine athletic skill with high academic achievement.
Students who have completed the necessary course credits through Lindenwood’s Honors Program are eligible to be named Honors Scholars or to receive University Honors.
“University Honors is reserved for exceptional students who demonstrate intelligence, initiative, and perseverance in fulfilling requirements beyond those asked of others,” said Michael Whaley, Ph.D., associate professor of history and chairman of the Honors College Board. “It’s the highest honor the university gives.”
