More than 1,500 graduates participated in Lindenwood University’s commencement exercises May 15 and 16 at the Family Arena in St. Charles.
Lou Brock, former St. Louis Cardinal and member of the Baseball Hall of Fame, addressed the crowd during graduate and baccalaureate ceremonies on Friday, May 15. Brenda Newberry, board chair of The Newberry Group, Inc., served as the keynote speaker during the undergraduate ceremony on Saturday, May 16.
Approximately 750 students took part in Friday’s proceedings, during which 52 doctoral and 16 specialist degrees also were conferred. More than 900 graduates took part in Saturday’s ceremony, during which student speakers Kendra Kaine and Angela Poeling delivered remarks.
Honorary degrees also were awarded to Brock and Newberry, as well as Elizabeth Rauch, an alumna and member of the Lindenwood University Board of Directors. Betty Osiek, Ph.D., received the schools’ annual Alumni Merit Award for her outstanding work in the field of education.
Lindenwood University, founded in 1827, is an independent liberal arts university offering 84 undergraduate degree programs and 37 graduate programs in diverse areas of study in traditional and accelerated formats.
