Lindenwood University Partners with Little Guppy

July 1, 2009

Lindenwood University and Little Guppy Child Development Centers (LGCDC) have formed a partnership to offer eligible employees at both locations discounted services. The university offers tuition assistance to LGCDC staff, while reduced child-care rates are available to full-time Lindenwood employees and students.

“It’s a win-win situation,” said Joe Parisi, dean of day admissions at Lindenwood. “This is a wonderful collaboration aimed at making it easier for both adults and their children to attend excellent educational organizations.”

LGCDC waives their $50 enrollment fee and offers a 10 percent discount per enrolled child to Lindenwood staff and students. The offer applies at both of the organization’s two locations in St. Charles County: 1078 Bryan Road in O’Fallon, Mo., and 3151 Elm Point Industrial Drive in St. Charles, Mo.

Lindenwood awards LGCDC employees who are undergraduate, residential students a grant in the amount of $2,000 plus an additional $2,400 Work and Learn award. Traditional commuter students may receive a $1,200 grant.

LCDG employees who enroll in masters courses within Lindenwood’s School of Education are eligible for a $60 per credit hour grant, while those enrolled in non-education master’s courses are eligible for a $25 per credit hour grant.

“Lindenwood is giving our nearly 90 employees the opportunity to further their formal educations at its esteemed school,” said Debbie Civey, CEO of Little Guppy Child Development Centers. “And we’re helping Lindenwood by offering their employees and students a setting in which they can be confident their children will flourish.”

Lindenwood University, founded in 1827, is an independent liberal arts university offering 84 undergraduate degree programs and 37 graduate programs in diverse areas of study in traditional and accelerated formats.

Lindenwood operates a residential campus in historic St. Charles, as well as 10 extension sites throughout the St. Louis Metropolitan area.
