The Lindenwood University Athletic Training Education Program has been approved for continued accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). The program has met the nationally-recognized standards for entry-level athletic training education established by the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the National Athletic Trainers' Association, Inc.
Graduates of Lindenwood’s athletic training program are eligible to sit for the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (NATABOC) certification exam.
“This accreditation is the gold standard,” said Randy Biggerstaff, department chair and associate professor of Health and Fitness Sciences. “Students can only sit for the certification exam if they’ve graduated from an accredited school, so this allows us to continue to be the only university in the St. Louis area that offers an undergraduate athletic degree program.”
Lindenwood’s Athletic Training Education Program has been continuously accredited by CAATE since 2003. The next regularly scheduled comprehensive review of the program will be in 2013.
