Lindenwood Launching Education Doctorate in Springfield, Mo.

Lindenwood University is launching a new Doctor of Instructional Leadership program in cooperation with Ozarks Community College in Springfield, Mo. The new program, which has an emphasis in higher education administration, will be offered on the Ozarks Technical Community College campus and on the main Lindenwood University campus.

“Officials at the Ozarks Technical Community College were aware of the need for this kind of program in the area, and they were interested in having a relevant doctoral program readily accessible for their employees,” said Lindenwood University President Jim Evans. “We are confident that locating this program in Springfield, where there are multiple major colleges and universities, will attract quality people who are dedicated to the importance of higher education.”

The program is a new emphasis area to the Doctor of Education degree launched by Lindenwood in 2007.

“While there are a number of doctoral programs in the Springfield area in elementary and secondary education, we are excited to finally have a program that focuses on higher education,” added Dr. Hal Higdon, president of Ozarks Technical Community College.

Classes in the doctoral program will begin in January of 2011. For more information or to apply, contact Dr. Terry Reid at treid@lindenwood.edu.
