Panel Discussion Oct. 6 on Changing Face of Journalism

Lindenwood University will observe Media Literacy Week Oct. 3-9, 2010, by hosting a panel discussion in the Elizabeth Dunseth Auditorium of Harmon Hall on the main St. Charles, Mo., campus. “The Changing Face of Journalism: How the Internet Impacts News Gathering and Reporting” will take place at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 6, and is free and open to the public.

Panelists will include journalism professionals Eric Mink, Aaron Mermelstein, Brian Thouvenot, and Casey Nolen. The event will be moderated by Lindenwood University Assistant Professor of Communications Jill Falk.

Mink is a former op-ed editor and columnist for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and a current adjunct professor of film at Webster University in St. Louis, Mo. Mermelstein is a freelance producer and writer with extensive professional experience in all forms of media, including television network news, cable programming, radio, newspapers, online media, and more. Thouvenot is a former executive producer of WGAL-TV in Pennsylvania and is currently the digital content manager of KMOV.com in St. Louis, Mo. Nolen is a former photographer who has worked since 2007 as a multimedia journalist for KSDK-TV in St. Louis.
