Duree Center for Entrepreneurship Receives Grant from Coleman Foundation

Lindenwood University’s Duree Center for Entrepreneurship has received a $15,000 grant from the Coleman Foundation to fund its 2013-14 Symposia Series. /RightProfessor David Rosenwasser, who heads the center, said $12,500 of the grant will be used to fund the symposia series, while the remaining $2,500 will be used for students to attend a collegiate entrepreneurship conference in Chicago in November or a self-employment in the arts conference in February 2014. “This is the Coleman Foundation’s first grant to Lindenwood University,” said Rosenwasser. “We are, of course, very grateful. It is a wonderful reflection on the university and center for the Coleman Foundation to recognize us in this way.” The Coleman Foundation is a private, independent organization that primarily focuses on grantmaking in the Midwest region, according to its website. Established in 1981, the foundation has established core programs in cancer care, developmental disabilities, and entrepreneurship education. The Duree Center operates within the university’s School of Business and Entrepreneurship’s Hammond Institute for Free Entreprise, which was launched this summer. The center is dedicated to encouraging entrepreneurship and providing education and instruction to that end.
