The Lindenwood University MFA in Writing Program has been recognized on Word Focus' Top Ten List of Online Creative Writing Programs. The program, which is available in online and on-ground formats, was recognized for its flexibility and applicability to a variety of writing careers.
Along with the benefits described in the article, Lindenwood offers a 50 percent tuition discount to students over the age of 55, as well as an education grant of $60 off per credit hour for students currently teaching high school, middle school, or elementary teachers. All LU MFA students may take classes online, in the classroom, or a combination of both. Fully online students do not have a residency requirement. The program offers writing workshops as well as craft and literature coursework, and students have the opportunity to serve as editorial assistants on the literary journal The Lindenwood Review.
The program holds two literary readings per year, and students and alumni receive quarterly program updates with lists of publication opportunities and literary events.
