Dr. Peggy Ellis, Dean of the School of Nursing
and Allied Health Sciences 

The mission of the School of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences is to provide innovative, quality education in nursing and health-related disciplines that incorporate professional standards and scientific findings. This is congruent with the mission of Lindenwood University, which offers values-centered programs leading to the development of the whole person – an educated, responsible citizen of a global community. The goals of the School of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences are to
  • cultivate health professionals who are dedicated to excellence, leadership, and lifelong learning through innovative baccalaureate and graduate programs,
  • promote interdisciplinary professional collaboration through academic and community partnerships to improve health outcomes in our metropolitan region and beyond.
The core values of the School of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences are as follows:
  • Science – Providing the student with a scientific, evidence-based foundation for clinical reasoning and clinical judgment;
  • Open attitudes – Encouraging the student to be open-minded and flexible to the beliefs, values, and needs of diverse populations;
  • Nurturing – Nurturing students through the educational process and inspiring the student to practice in an empathetic, compassionate, and caring manner;
  • Advocating – Advocating for the individual, families, communities, and populations within the healthcare system and for the profession;
  • Health – Cultivating a concern for the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health for individuals, families, communities, and populations;
  • Stewardship – Providing leadership and direction within the profession and in the provision of health care as a part of an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
