Lindenwood University raised more than $125,000 during Giving Week 2022, surpassing its goal of raising $100,000 and setting a new Giving Week fundraising record.
During the four-day celebration of philanthropy from March 23-26, the university received 428 gifts totaling $125,825 from faculty, staff, students, alumni, and friends across 39 states. This represents a 277 percent increase in dollars raised, and a 139 percent increase in donors over last year’s campaign.
“I continue to be impressed by the limitless generosity of our Lindenwood family,” Lindenwood President John R. Porter said. “The support that we received during Giving Week will have an extraordinary impact that reaches to all corners of our campus.”
Giving Week brings together the entire Lindenwood community to support the people, places, and programs on Lindenwood’s campus. Donors during this year’s Giving Week supported 44 different areas on campus including academic programs, student scholarships, intercollegiate athletics, the Lindenwood Annual Fund, and much more.
The annual event also aims to educate students on the importance of philanthropy in the educational experience. Lindenwood Advancement hosted events on-campus during Giving Week where students could write notes and record videos thanking donors for helping to support their educational experience.
“This year’s Giving Week was an incredible week for Lindenwood students,” said Renata Bule who leads Lindenwood’s annual giving program. “Lions across the world joined together to promote and celebrate the great work that happens every day on our campus. Lindenwood is truly a special place, and the record-breaking support we received from our alumni and friends during giving week is a testament to that.”
