Colleges of Distinction has honored Lindenwood University for its strong undergraduate degree in business. Thanks to a well-rounded curriculum with hands-on experiences and a liberal arts foundation, its business students are prepared to enter the workforce with strong leadership skills and the ability to succeed in an ever-evolving society.
Tyson Schritter, Chief Operating Officer for Colleges of Distinction, explains Lindenwood's process for becoming a Business College of Distinction: "We look for qualities such as accreditation, program breadth, advising and mentoring, integration of career services, and successful student outcomes. Thriving in a precarious economy requires one to be agile in the face of change. We applaud Lindenwood's emphasis on educating ethical, agile, and competent leaders."
To earn this distinction, the University demonstrated the following indicators of excellence:
- Accreditation - The Plaster College of Business and Entrepreneurship holds accreditation from ACBSP: Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs, and the University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.
- Practical Experience - The Plaster College of Business and Entrepreneurship provides students with practical, hands-on experiences through the University's VITA Tax Clinic, student managed investment fund, DECA consulting business, and annual sports management golf fundraiser.
- Collaborative Learning - Students engage in collaborative projects with peers both within and outside their majors, utilizing case-method teaching, participating in business plan competitions, and fostering collaboration beyond their chosen field.
- Business Ethics - Lindenwood's undergraduate business programs prioritize business ethics, emphasizing the broader responsibilities of companies toward customers, employees, investors, communities, suppliers, and the environment.
- Industry Connections - Students benefit from numerous opportunities to establish professional connections in their field through internships and career placement, and an extensive network of successful alumni.
