Lindenwood Provides 100 Thanksgiving Meals

This morning, Lindenwood University provided Thanksgiving meals to 100 families as part of the new LindenGiving community outreach endeavor.

In partnership with OASIS Food Pantry and Powell Terrace Food Pantry, 100 families were identified to receive meals including a turkey, potatoes, stuffing, and pumpkin pie. Lindenwood purchased meal components from Schnuck’s and received additional support from Pedestal Foods.

Lindenwood University President, Dr. John Porter, and his wife Beverly were joined by more than 40 university employees who volunteered to deliver meals and assist with the outdoor pick-up. Dr. Porter previously announced the initiative in an email to the university community, “In this year of many challenges, Lindenwood has been richly blessed,” he shared. “We also have a responsibility to support our friends and neighbors in St. Charles, and in this spirit of fellowship, Lindenwood University is contributing 100 Thanksgiving meals to families in need here in our local community.”

LindenGiving is proud to partner with two St. Charles nonprofit organizations, OASIS Food Pantry and Powell Terrace Food Pantry, for this important initiative. The LindenGiving program, new to the University, will host a quarterly outreach initiative to directly impact the city of St. Charles.
