Lindenwood University and St. Charles Community College joined together yesterday, and signed an agreement, as part of a cooperative partnership to support the higher education of students in St. Charles County.
Lindenwood University will work with St. Charles Community College to establish programs for students who plan to continue their education after completing an associate degree at SCCC. This agreement will include dual admission and transfer processes to support student enrollment and grant students early access to faculty advisors in their field of study. In addition, Lindenwood University will provide transfer students with scholarship resources to support their continued academic pursuits as part of this agreement.
“We are thrilled to enter into this meaningful agreement with St. Charles Community College”, said Dr. John Porter, president of Lindenwood University. “This will open doors for excellent students in our community and enrich both campuses in many ways.”
Joining Porter at the ceremony was Dr. Barbara Kavalier, president of St. Charles Community College, who shared similar sentiments, “A year ago, we talked about the need to work together, and knew we should be collaborating and bringing our resources together for the students.”
Dr. Porter was accompanied by Senior Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Engagement, Terry Whittum, and Provost & Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr. Mark Arant. Representing SCC alongside Dr. Kavalier were Vice President for Student Services, David Leenhouts, and Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Holly Martin.
