If you want to get even more involved as a Lindenwood alumni, consider joining the Alumni Advisory Council (AAC)!
The Lindenwood University Alumni Advisory Council (AAC) exists to help build strong and lasting relationships between alumni and friends of Lindenwood. Members of the AAC serve as volunteers, spokespeople, and advocates of Lindenwood. The AAC collaborates with and supports the University’s Office of Alumni Relations but does not have binding decision-making or spending authority, which remains at the discretion of the Office of Alumni Relations. The AAC is an integral part of the continued success of Lindenwood’s alumni efforts and the commitment to connecting with lifelong Lions & Lynx!
Members are at heart of the AAC and the primary focus of AAC members is to serve as ambassadors for Lindenwood. AAC members will be made up of alumni who represent chapter leaders, affinity group leaders, volunteers, and those who love Lindenwood. The goal of the AAC is to represent all facets of Lindenwood to ensure a diverse collaboration of efforts, including but not limited to location, academic college/degree, year of graduation, etc.
Applications for AAC members are accepted on a rolling basis and will be reviewed as positions become available. If you are interested in applying for the AAC, please email alumni@lindenwood.edu.

Favorite Lindenwood memory: Participating in multiple homecoming festivities. The parades, BBQs, vibrant classroom discussions, and growing up on campus made for a smart introduction into adulthood. Anthony remembers organizing the Lindenwood Climbing program and an indoor wall within Ayres gymnasium, where Lindenwood students could learn to climb the wall during lunch periods. Fellow students trusting Anthony with their safety gave him a sense of pride and established many fond memories from his time as a student.
About Anthony: Anthony has worked in social services since graduating from Lindenwood in 2000. Working with people and public speaking have had positive impacts on the community as he works to improve the lives of others. He enjoys kayaking, hiking with his dog, and traveling with his wife. Anthony volunteers for Midwest Transplant Services, Little Kickers as a soccer coach, Triple A t-ball coach, and the Vandeventer Meditation & Healing Garden. Anthony also serves on several organization boards in the area, including the Dismas House Pandemic response team, the Heart Transplant Association, U.S. Federal Court’s Gang Re-Entry Initiative Program (G.R.I.P). He has been volunteering with the Forest Park Advisory Board for 16 years, as well. Anthony works at the Dismas House of St. Louis as the chief operations officer.

About Kathia: Kathia is mother to two teenagers Samuel, 12, and Kamila, 14, a devoted wife to Julio, and a committed administrator with more than 20 years of experience. She has worked in areas such as customer service, administrative assistant, insurance serving senior executives and today works in Capital Bank as an executive assistant to the General Manager. She was fortunate to graduate from Lindenwood University in 1998 as part of a dream to study abroad where she could improve her English as a second language and make new friends. Kathia enjoys being involved in projects that make positive changes in the community and loves to read, dance, investigate, write, and organize. She is the founder of the Los Cazalecturas reading club, established two years ago. She enjoys traveling and getting to know different cultures. One of her dreams is to travel to Europe and see her children formally educated. One of her favorite phrases is, “If others can, you can too”.

Favorite Lindenwood Memory: Sitting around the table with friends after supper and shooting the breeze, especially on the weekend when they had no homework due the next day.
About Carol: A native of St. Louis, Carol enrolled at Lindenwood College for Women in 1973 and studied art and Latin. A 1977 alumna, she uses both disciplines to this day: Carol tutors Latin and uses her artistic skills for creating designs to stitch on the embroidery machine. After Lindenwood, she attended Iowa State University of Science and Technology for one year and then moved to Pennsylvania after marrying her husband. They raised three children and have several grandchildren. The family stays in close contact and love to visit whenever they can. Having relocated to Illinois in 1993, Carol worked at a fabric store and then took a job teaching at a sewing school where, in addition to their standard curriculum, she presented some classes of her own creation. She is pleased to join the Alumni Advisory Council, and looks forward to future interactions.

About Rick: Rick has worked as an educational consultant for the last eight years. He has helped numerous families navigate the college admissions and financial process as they work to find the best college match. Previously, he was employed at Cottey College as the Vice President of Enrollment Management. In this position he oversaw admissions, financial aid and a good portion of the marketing efforts of the college. In his career, he has served as a dean, director, and faculty member at several colleges and universities. He likes to spend time with his family, traveling the globe and supporting the University of Kansas basketball team. Rick earned his master’s in corporate communications from Lindenwood University, his bachelor’s in management from Webster University, and has recently graduated from Cornell University in Executive Leadership studies.

Favorite Lindenwood memory: Abby doesn’t have a specific Lindenwood memory, but a collection of favorite memories working with her peers and making lifelong friends in the Writing Center. The other tutors and Abby still catch up regularly, or in the case of some of them, almost daily. She’s helped them move across the country, been part of their weddings, and watched their children grow. The word “blessed” sometimes gets thrown around too casually, but in this instance she can’t think of anything else; Abby has truly been blessed to have these fellow grammar nerds in her life.
About Abby: Abby Edele started Lindenwood University in August 2010 and graduated in May 2016 with a bachelor’s in creative writing. While at Lindenwood, she was a tutor in the Writing Center and served as a contributor and editor for the school’s undergraduate literary magazine, Arrow Rock. Lindenwood introduced her to her jobs at Book-x-Change and the Barnes & Noble College bookstore. She later worked as an Editorial Specialist in medical textbooks at Graphic World, Inc. in Maryland Heights, Mo. She joined Boeing where she works as a technical publication delivery specialist. Abby volunteers as a dog walker at the St. Louis County Pet Adoption Center and as a foster dog parent with The Feral Companion. She also enjoys reading, listening to audiobooks and podcasts, watching TV and movies, traveling, baking and decorating cakes, and trying new restaurants.

About Alex: Alex Ferrario was born and bred in “The Lou” and grew up living and breathing St. Louis sports. From age 5 on, he and his dad would attend every Blues game from fall to spring, and as many Cardinals baseball games as possible. As a senior at Fox High School, he realized his career would be in sports. Two years of community college led him to Lindenwood University where he became the “Voice of the Lions” for football, basketball, hockey and other athletics. He spent all of his free-time in the radio station or television station. During his time at Lindenwood, Alex was presented with the opportunity to be the booth assistant for the Blues, working with Chris Kerber and Kelly Chase. After three years, Alex joined KMOX in 2013 as a producer for various shows including Sports Open Line and hosting the pre/post games for the Blues & Cardinals. Alex served the last four years as host for Sports Open Line shows, as well as Cardinals and Blues pre/post games. He co-hosted a weekly hockey show, Chili’s Week in Hockey every Monday night throughout the 2017-2019 seasons. If Alex is not on the air or at a sporting event, he can be found spending time with his wife, Katie, or volunteering with animal shelters around St. Louis. He is an avid animal lover, food enthusiast, and an aspiring traveler.

About Priyadharshan: Priyadharshan Kannappan is a Chess Grand Master and the founder and CEO of Chess Gyaan, an online chess academy based out of India. Priyadharshan is a successful chess trainer having worked with 4 age category national champions and has students from 7+ countries. He also coached the Indian team in the World Sub-Junior Chess Olympiad 2019. Priyadharshan has a multi-faceted personality having written the best-selling chess book “The Modernized Berlin Wall Defense”. Priyadharshan has a deep connection with Lindenwood as he was a founding member of the chess team in 2012. He was the captain of the team from 2012-16 and took the team to top-10 finishes in the Pan-American Collegiate Championships. Priyadharshan won many awards in Lindenwood like the Presidential Academic Excellence Award for the year 2014 and 2015 and the Male-Scholar Athlete Award in 2015. Outside of his passion for Chess, Priyadharshan enjoys reading biographies, listening to Indian music and watching movies and researching about how technology is changing education.

About George: Georgiy (George) Krasnopolskiy’14 studied education at Lindenwood while competing on the chess team. After graduation, he moved to Colorado Springs, Co. and became director of the math program at Launch High School. Eventually he combined his math, chess, and teaching skills to help people with their finances by becoming a wealth manager. In his spare time he loves to hike, camp, discuss life, and is currently restoring a 1966 Honda CT 90 Motorcycle.

About Jodell: Jodell graduated from Lindenwood with a bachelor’s in business with an emphasis in marketing and fashion design. In 1996, she began her career in the corporate world, working for many years as a senior software contract negotiator and administrator for IBM. While managing over 100 contracts at a time, Jodell lacked the time she needed to expand her creative side. In 2012, Jodell decided to take a leap into entrepreneurship and pursue her lifelong passion, leaving IBM and getting certified as a wedding and event planner. She received her Wedding and Event Planning Certification from the Wedding Planning Institute, located in Roseville, CA. Jodell opened her wedding and event planning company, Starry Night Events, LLC in October 2013. She maintains her studio in St. Peters, Mo., where she meets with clients to plan weddings and other events. As an accomplished seamstress and past national chairman of the board of the American Sewing Guild, Jodell has incorporated those skills into her wedding business. She provides alteration on wedding gowns and dresses for other members of the wedding party. In addition to a busy professional like, Jodell maintains involvement in Lindenwood University and the local community. She is currently the president of the Lindenwood Alumni St. Charles Chapter. She also volunteers as an usher at the J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts and is an active member of the Lindenwood book club and the Plaster College of Business affinity group. She is active in P.E.O., a woman’s Philanthropic Educational Organization, and is a member of the O’Fallon Chamber of Commerce and Industries.

About Tyler: Tyler is originally from Bethalto, Ill. He enjoys sports, and grew up playing hockey, eventually ending his career at Lindenwood University. He graduated from Lindenwood with a bachelor’s in sports management in 2016 and master’s of business administration in 2017. Tyler is married and lives in Kirkwood, Mo. Tyler works as a project engineer at Paric Corporation, which is a general contractor for construction in St. Louis.

About Rosita: Rosita D. Lewis recently retired as the Director of TRIO Student Support Services from St. Louis Community College, Florissant Valley where she was also an adjunct professor. Rosita completed her undergraduate degree at Truman State University where she studied social sciences and then came to Lindenwood for her master’s in business administration in the evening. She has served as a board member for EDUrain.org, is a sorority member of Sigma Gamma Rho, has won the American Business Woman of the Year award, and is a 3 time GO! St. Louis half marathon participant.

Favorite Lindenwood Memory: Travis’ favorite Lindenwood memory was at the National Championship in 2010, where the team dominated. It was his personal best year with multiple individual national championships.
About Travis: At the age of 9, Travis started his competitive shotgun career and has continued to follow his passion. He started with the youth shooting programs such as 4-H and SCTP and then moved on to Lindenwood University in St. Charles as a scholarship shooter. While at Lindenwood Travis took part in 5 Team National Championships, 7 Individual Collegiate National Championships, started his Professional Exhibition Shooting Career and completed his bachelor’s and master’s in business administration. After moving back to Texas, Travis continued his career shooting Sporting Clays and traveling putting on Exhibition Shows on the weekends, while devoting his weeks to his wife Raelynn and business career. In 2018, Travis designed and opened Defender Outdoors Clay Sports Ranch, the premier shotgun range in North Texas. Travis is the President of Defender Outdoors Clay Sports Ranch and has grown it into one of the top 5 highest volume sporting clays ranges in Texas. Travis and Raelynn have been married for 10 years and have a 5-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son.

Favorite Lindenwood memory: Meeting and making friends with international students from all over the world, and playing on the field hockey team
About Irene: Irene is a 2012 alumna who played field hockey at Lindenwood. Irene is from Zimbabwe where her field hockey journey began. She was selected for consecutive years for the provincial team, and then selected for the u18 Zimbabwe National Team. She earned her master’s in Public Health from Washington University in St. Louis in 2016 and currently works as the Chronic Disease Program Coordinator at St. Louis County Department of Public Health. Irene works in partnership with an alliance of local leaders on preventing and managing diabetes, heart disease, and stroke in high burdened, low income St. Louis communities. Irene is also a 2020 New Leaders Council Fellow and coaches field hockey. Irene was recently selected to sit on the Board for Immigrant Home English Learning Program (IHELP) and sits on the Board for Sherwood Forest Camps St. Louis. She enjoys all things sports, adventure, culture, wine, and travel related. She especially enjoys pouring into aspiring students/young professionals. Her mantra is pay it forward.

At the St. Charles campus, it was Alex’s experience in the gender studies program that forever changed the way Alex views society and interacts with others.
About Alex: Born, raised, and forever in St. Charles. Lindenwood helped Alex find his passion, and for that, he is forever thankful. About Bre: Bre is a lover of people, food, and all things sports! She came to St. Charles for school in 2013 as a basketball recruit, and never left. She married her college sweetheart, Antron Watts, who is a fellow Lindenwood alum, and played on the football team. They love the community, their church, and careers. She is a new mother to a beautiful little boy, Tronny, and she cannot wait to show him the place his parents fell in love.
