Non-Thesis/Applied Project Option
This option is ideal for students with a professional focus. It allows them to apply theories and research methods from their field in a professional setting or through a final product or series of products. Projects may take various forms, but all students produce material on behalf of an organization or field of practice. Students document their progress and product for final review by their thesis committee.
Thesis Option
The thesis option involves creating an original piece of scholarship relevant to the field of study. Students investigate an aspect of that field, professional area, or organization. They evaluate existing research, develop a research question, and refine their thesis over the course of the program. The final thesis is written in the last two semesters and reviewed by the thesis committee. Students taking the thesis option are required to take CAH 50000 Research Methods as one of their electives.
