Chajuana Trawick
Dr. Chajuana Trawick is the first faculty member in Lindenwood University’s nearly 200-year history to receive an endowed chair position and generous gift in the College of Arts and Humanities. As endowed chair and associate professor, Dr. Trawick recreated the Fashion Business and Design program to focus on technology, sustainability, and building global fashion relationships. Dr. Trawick earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in textile and apparel management from the University of Missouri (Columbia), a Master of Business Administration degree, and a Bachelor of Science degree in fashion merchandising and design from Fontbonne University. As a published educator and business owner for over 20 years, Dr. Trawick has designed apparel and accessories for men, women, and children and produced numerous fashion shows and historic costume exhibits. She has also presented her research both nationally and internationally. Dr. Trawick is devoted to being a good steward of the students, faculty, and staff within the Fashion Business and Design program and emphatically supports real experience and real success.
Adjunct Faculty
- Diana Casanova, Adjunct Instructor in Fashion Business & Design - Diana Casanova was born and raised in St. Louis, Mo. She received her M.F.A. from Washington University in St. Louis and B.F.A. from Webster University. She currently resides in St. Louis and works as an adjunct instructor at Lindenwood University. She is also the Director at The Greenberg Gallery.
- Randi Chervitz, Adjunct Instructor in Fashion Business & Design - Randi Chervitz received a Master of Science in fashion business and entrepreneurship from Lindenwood University and is a designer/metal smith, fiber artist, and fashion educator. She teaches classes such as How to Make a Living in the Arts, Techniques in Metal Smithing, and Arashi Shibori Japanese tie-dye to students in art studios in Southern Illinois University, Saint Louis Community College, and Craft Alliance Center for the Arts. Additionally, she has addressed artists at SOFA- Chicago and on the selling floor at Salon Des Artists, Montreal, Canada, in how to build relationships with U.S. buyers. Chervitz’s handmade silver and gold jewelry pieces feature fiber techniques executed in precious metals, accented with pearls and precious stones. The work speaks of her love of adornment, fashion, and design. Her internationally recognized jewelry line, Uncommon Threads Jewelry, is carried by craft galleries, museum stores, and stylish boutiques across the U.S. and Canada. - Lydia Merritt, Adjunct Instructor in Fashion Business & Design - Lydia Merritt was born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y. She attended Fashion Industries High School and Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). She has worked in the garment industry for 38 years, and she helps new designers develop their clothing lines and small-scale production. Merritt also works with high school students by introducing them to the basics of fashion. Currently residing in St. Louis, Merritt is a business owner, freelance pattern maker, and sample hand. As an adjunct instructor at Lindenwood University, she teaches Flat Patternmaking, Computer Aided Design Patternmaking, and Draping.
- Shevare’ Perry, Adjunct Instructor in Fashion Business & Design - Shevare’ Perry is a fashion marketing educator and entrepreneur. Her education includes a Bachelor of Science in fashion design and a Master of Business Administration in international management. While attending graduate school in London, she fell in love with the rapid pace atmosphere and creative approaches to fashion. Her work experience includes ecommerce, buying, and fashion retail. Having the chance to work behind and on the scenes of the fashion industry, she’s grasped a variety of knowledge. Currently, Perry teaches fashion marketing at the college level and assists school districts with family and consumer science education development. She teaches Apparel Design Draping and Patternmaking. Perry has used her experience on both sides of fashion education to develop The Real Fashion Experience, a hands-on curriculum for high school, college, and technical school students who are interested in fashion. https://www.shevare.com/
