Teacher of Record and Paraprofessional Field Placement Site Application

College of Education and Human Services NAVIGATION

The College of Education and Human Services Teacher Education Program, through its Field Experiences Office, provides clinical experience placements that strive to provide the most optimal environments for observations, practicums and student teaching experiences.

In some limited situations, a candidate may be employed as contracted teachers or paraprofessionals and desire to complete the given experience while employed by the school/district. Lindenwood University's College of Education and Human Services Curriculum and Instruction, Teacher Education Department reviews all placement sites, even if a student is employed in a district.

This application should be completed by the individual that desires to use an employment site to complete field experience hours in Lindenwood University's Teacher Education Program.

Step 1

Please be sure to review the Field Experiences Handbook prior to completing this application. Ensure that your situation meets the criteria as outlined in the handbook.

Step 2

Two (2) required documents must be downloaded, completed and signed by you and the district representatives.

Step 3

Once you have obtained all signatures, you may continue to apply at this site. Complete the form and upload the appropriate documentation no later than Week 3 of an 8 week course or Week 8 of a 16-week course. For the student teaching experience, the candidate must complete this application by May 1 for Fall student teaching or by November 1 for Spring student teaching.

Step 4

Your application will be reviewed by a committee at a monthly meeting. A decision will be made and communicated to you via LU email.

Notes

Not all applications are approved as appropriate sites. If your request is not granted, you have the right to submit an appeal. Incomplete applications will be denied.

Lindenwood is not responsible for changes of your placement per your employer. If changes are made to your teaching assignment by your employer and they do not meet the requirements as stated in our policies, you will have to postpone your field experience until placement arrangements are made that meet the requirements.

If you or your district representatives have questions, please contact soeplacements@lindenwood.edu
