Mike WartgowJanuary 20 – February 28
Reception

Artist Talk 5 p.m.New Faculty member, Mike Wartgow's body of work consists of still lifes and figure painting featuring objects and images rooted from memories of family vacations. These include domestic items as well as more unusual objects such as sleeping bags, mirrors, and fish. The arrangements are set up in a way which suggests an occupied space yet are absent of the figures. Through these compositions, he aims to create a quiet series of reflections on themes of transience, movement, and displacement. These objects serve as metaphors for the passage of time, the nature of memory, and the ongoing personal search for meaning.
