16 17 FALL 2023 EDITION THE LINDENWOOD THE LINDENWOOD FALL 2023 EDITION ATHLETICS LINDENWOOD UNIVERSITY LINDENWOOD ATHLETICS CORY ARENTSEN | MEN’S BASKETBALL | 2014–16 During his two-year career as a Lion, Cory Arentsen solidified his legacy as one of the best shooters in program history, averaging 19.8 points per game, while knocking down a staggering 42.4% of his attempts from 3-point range. As a senior in 2015–16, Arentsen set a school record by averaging 24.2 points a game and led the team in assists and steals. During his senior campaign, Arentsen was recognized as a first-team all-MIAA and NABC second-team all-region selection. DEDE DORSEY | FOOTBALL | 2004–05 DeDe Dorsey was tabbed as a first-team NAIA All-American at defensive back as a junior in 2004 after he scored three defensive touchdowns for the Lindenwood football team. Dorsey also contributed on the offensive side of the ball in 2004 rushing for 842 yards and nine touchdowns. As a senior in 2005, Dorsey became the first Lion to earn AFCA All- American honors, rushing for 1,600 yards and 16 touchdowns. Dorsey became the first player in NAIA history to be named as a first-team All-American on defense and offense in successive seasons. MIKE FAILONI | BASEBALL | 2012–14 Mike Failoni compiled one of the greatest single seasons in Lindenwood baseball history during his junior campaign in 2013. As a junior, Failoni was a unanimous first-team All- MIAA selection, first team all-region, and ABCA/Rawlings All-American after breaking the MIAA single-season batting average record by hitting .500. Failoni led the MIAA in four other batting categories, including on-base percentage, hits, doubles, and total bases. At the end of his career, Failoni was the program’s all-time leader in batting average and OPS. AMANDA GREENE | WOMEN’S BOWLING | 2009–13 Amanda Greene spent four years competing for the Lindenwood bowling program and finished her career as one of the most decorated and accomplished bowlers in program history. Greene was a NCBCA first-team All-American three times throughout her time as a Lion, earning the distinction in 2011, ’12, and ’13. Greene became the program’s first ever All-American. From 2011–13, Greene amassed four singles titles, seven second-place singles finishes, and 23 top-10 singles finishes. ALECIA MCGILLIVRAY | WOMEN’S SWIMMING & DIVING | 2013–17 Alecia McGillivray became Lindenwood’s first individual NCAA National Champion in any sport after winning the 1,000-meter freestyle and 1,650 free titles at the 2015 National Championships. McGillivray concluded her Lindenwood career as the record holder in seven different events, two of which remain today. McGillivray earned All-American honors in 10 different events over the course of her four-year Lindenwood career. DON ADAMS JR. | MERITORIOUS SERVICE AWARD Don Adams Jr. has spent nearly two decades covering athletic events at Lindenwood as the primary photographer for the Lions. Over the course of his career, Adams Jr. has attended and covered an unmatched amount of Lindenwood events and provided imagery for some of the most memorable moments in Lindenwood’s illustrious athletic history. Adams Jr. remains passionate about serving Lindenwood’s coaches, staff, and, most importantly, the thousands of student-athletes he has covered during his time.
